April 2018 - New Confessions of an Economic Hitman

A scary story, but a must read for all who have an interest in business, economics, and world politics. One person told me it was the scariest book he had ever read.

March - Waiting for Snow in Havanna

I looked forward to reading Waiting for Snow in Havanna. I enjoyed the locations referred to in Havanna that I know from my visits. It is a violent boook in some ways. Think of all the ways a young privelged boy with no boundaries can be cruel to others and to animals. I could not finish it.

It was a one book, one San Diego and won a few awards. Men seemed to enjoy it more than women, particularly women who are mothers.

February's A Gentleman in Moscow

From an Amazon Review:
Brimming with humor, a glittering cast of characters, and one beautifully rendered scene after another, this singular novel casts a spell as it relates the count’s endeavor to gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be a man of purpose.

Having read his other book, Rules of Civility, several years ago I purchased this book and loved it. This was a book that everyone loved. It is one I recommend to others. Not only is there some clues as to life in Russia, but a moving story.
