Here is the list of the upcoming books for the remainder of the year.
May: The Last Painting of Sara demos
June: Unforgettable by Scott Simon of NPR. About his mother who was quite a character.
July: The Death of Ivan Illyich by Tolstoy. Our classic for the year and a short book for the summer.
August: Into the Beautiful North by Urrea. Author grew up in TJ and Chula Vista.
September: Mach 3 by John Lewis. This is a graphic novel by the Congressman who marched with MLK. Great introduction to the power of graphic novels
October: The Good German by Kanon
November: Personal History by Katherine Graham. With today’s current events and the movie, The Post, this is a timely book. Suggested at last meeting.
We will be choosing our books for the next year and need recommendations. I think you can see that we read a broad spectrum of books. I really welcome some suggestions!
